1st Congress on Smart Cooperation: “Territorial Cooperation fostering European integration: Cities and Regions linking across borders”

In a context of crisis, it is of major importance to discuss what the benefits of cooperation are, what opportunities it represents and how, through cooperation, Europe can overcome the challenges it faces in the near future. Therefore, the objective of the Congress is to discuss key messages about why cooperation is the key to achieve Europe 2020 and Single Market goals.

Organized by the CECICN*, the event will bring together senior representatives of European institutions and stakeholders from all European borders. Michel Delebarre, president of the MOT and president of the COTER Commission of the Committee of the Regions will attend.

*The Conference of European Cross-border and Interregional City Networks a (CECICN) was born in 2010. Its objective is to boost territorial cooperation among border cities in Europe and to reinforce the message concerning the importance of territorial cooperation. CECICN involves six cooperation networks that represent more than 500 cities in border regions and 37% of European population. The six networks are: the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT), the Union of Baltic Cities, the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities, MedCities, the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities and the Iberian Network of Crossborder Bodies.
The conference is also organized in partnership with the AEBR.
