One of the most promising initiatives identified by the study “Cross-Border Cooperation in Latin America: contribution to the regional integration process" - carried out by DG REGIO with the support of the European Parliament - is the political will to develop a CBC across both sides of the wet border silhouetted by the River Paraná (Argentinean provinces of Misiones and Corrientes, and six departments in Paraguay), with the objective of implementing a sustainable process of development for this area. 

The AEBR has implemented the project "Cross-border cooperation in Latin America: support to integrated and sustainable development and cross-border cooperation in the Parana axis development". In this framework a workshop on CBC has taken place in Posadas on 13 June 2012.
