Culture workshop and establishment of the task force “Culture” in the context of the AEBR General Assembly, 8th of November 2012 in Berlin

Location: Auditorium Friedrichstrasse, Friedrichstrasse 180, 10117 Berlin, Germany

On the occasion of the board meeting of the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) which took place in May 2012 in Istanbul, a proposal, initiated by the city of Maastricht (NL) & the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion, which jointly submitted their European Capital of Culture 2018 candidacy, was discussed.

The sense of this proposal is the use of border regions’ cultural diversity in order to rediscover Europe and to create and promote cross-border, inter-regional or transnational cultural cooperation in Europe. The wish to create cross-border cultural networks or to support existing ones was also addressed.

This idea was welcomed by the attending border regions representatives and it was noted that on the occasion of the AEBR General Assembly, 8th of November 2012 in Berlin, a workshop entitled “How to use the cultural diversity of the border regions by means of rediscovering Europe” should take place.

The cultural directors and - leaders of our member regions are invited to attend this workshop. All interested persons are invited to confirm his or her registration by the 1st of November at the latest!

After the Assembly, the representatives of interested AEBR partner regions and the cultural workshop participants will join to establish the AEBR "task force culture".

Regions interested in becoming a member of this task force are invited to let us know as well.

The workshop “Culture” will be organized as a whole day session in the conference room “Usedom” which is situated at the same location as the General Assembly:
