Description: The European Club of Intermodal Regions and Cities, in partnership with SNCF MOBILITÉS, is organising a technical tour on intermodality in the Pays de la Loire region in France.

Starting from the Angers metropolitan area this visit is an opportunity to discover the regional intermodality plan programmed by the regional council, which holds a leading role in the implementation of intermodality and the development of complementary transport modes on its territory.

The visit will also help to address the effects of the law which will come into force on 1 January 2017 and which provides for the transfer of jurisdiction between the districts and the regional councils in the case of non-urban transport services, scheduled or on demand, school transport or the construction, development and operation of public long-haul bus stations.

Adopted in 2007 for a period of 20 years the Regional Infrastructure and Transport Plan allowed the Region Pays de la Loire to become one of the most advanced French (and European) regions in the field of transport and land use planning.

The 2 days technical tour will place in the spotlight past, recent and future developments of the regional intermodal passenger transport network which attendance is constantly increasing.

Registration: .

Registration fee for local/regional/national authorities representatives : 240 euros
Registration fee for commercial companies : 600 euros
Transport and hotel expenses are borne by the participants

The technical tours are open to representatives of European local authorities and professionals of the passenger transport field.
The aim of the Club is to host public and private passenger transport actors in exemplary intermodal communities, share sustainable mobility practices, passenger transport intermodality models and promote networking between the participants.

The event is part of the Sustainable Urban Transport DO THE RIGHT MIX campaign of the European Commission.

The objective of INTERMODES is the promotion of passenger intermodality in order to convince travellers to use public transport rather than their own car, for a sustainable mobility.
