Green Paper to review the recognition of professional qualifications:

The Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications should be updated by the end of the year. A green paper on this subject was published on 22 June, which is very important for workers mobility, the second lever of the Single Act. The draft green paper presents new approaches to facilitating mobility and outlines options to modernize the Directive. A main feature is the creation of an optional professional card to avoid dealing with too many documents and facilitate access to data by relevant authorities. But there are many other aspects like the determination of obligations for the state of origin and the host one, to improve the access to information with a single online access point, to extend the concept of regulated profession to all training schemes, the harmonisation of minimum training periods for certain professions, etc.
