AEBR participates in the European Development Days, the EU major event on Cooperation and Development and Humanitarian Aid:



 

The Association of European Border Regions participated in the the European Development Days (EDD), the major EU event on Cooperation and Development organized by the European Commission in Brussels the 16th and 17th October

More than 5,000 attendants from 1,500 organizations from all over the world participated in the EDD. Around 50 conferences and workshops were organized by the European institutions, European, African and Latin American governments and development agencies, as well as international NGOs. Inclusive and sustainable growth and food security were the main topics to debate.

Various seminars and workshops tackled issues related to AEBR’s work and interests, such as security in the African internal borders or decentralised cooperation. Concerning the latter, the AEBR is member of the European Platform of Local and Regional Authorities for Development, organizer of a 300-people seminar on the importance of the involvement of private-public partnership in Cooperation.

The EDD counted with the participation of high-level speakers , i.e. the President of the European Commission, the EU Commissioners responsible for Development and Humanitarian Aid, the presidents and prime-ministers of Mozambique, Senegal, Chipre and Benin, ministers for Cooperation of all over Europe and European regional and local representatives.
