2018 was a very important year for several euroregions, as they celebrated round anniversaries: EUREGIO its 60th, and Bayerisches Wald-Böhmerwald-MühlviertelEgrensisSpree-Neiße-Bober and the Polish Association Carpathian Euroregiontheir 25th! This is the time of silver anniversaries for those euroregions founded at the beginning of the nineties, as it was the case of Elbe/Labe, Erzgebirge – Krušnohoři, Nestos-Mesta and Pro Europa Viadrina in 2017. And, in 2019, EUROACE and EuroCaucasus will be 10, Euregio Karelia 20, Inn-Salzach 25 and Scheldemond will be 30. Congratulations!

The first cross-border cooperation structure ever, celebrated its 60th anniversary. With it, CBC has celebrated 60 years of existence exactly at the time when our objectives become more visible in the EU agenda. AEBR will be 50 very soon (2021) and it has been linked to EUREGIO from the very beginning. The single seat of AEBR has been EUREGIO for more than 40 years, and still is the headquarters of AEBR finances and administration. A renewed collaboration has to be drawn for the coming years looking at the current interests of both organisations. Here you can download EUREGIO’s Annual Report 2018 (in DE and NL).

Congratulations as well for Spree-Neiße-Bober and the Polish Association of the Carpathian Euroregion!

Spree-Neisse Bober

On the 21st of September, the Euroregion Spree-Neisse-Bober celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Marshal's Office of the Lubuskie Voivodeship in Zielona Góra. Many high-ranking representatives, along with the two Euroregion Presidents Czesław Fiedorowicz and Harald Altekrüger, looked back on the numerous achievements since 1993 and their overall influence on the German-Polish cooperation and friendship. In this context, the future INTERREG funding plays a significant role. In order to tackle the still existing barriers on both sides of the Euroregion, the EU has to take into account the existing structures and strengthen them as much as possible. Only then the long-term assets of the German-Polish cooperation can be obtained and further developed.

The correspondingly anniversary film can be watched in German and Polish under the following link:

Polish Association Carpathian Euroregion celebrated its 25th Anniversary with the edition of a commemorative video:
