- Compendium “Sustainable Territorial Development and Landscape”

AEBR participated in the presentation of the compendium “Sustainable Territorial Development and Landscape” organized by the Regional Council of South Karelia and Gesellschaft zur Förderung der grenzüberschreitenden Zusammenarbeit (GFGZ) and initiated by Dr. Elena Sadovnikova, coordinator of the publication. The event took place in the building of the Committee of the Regions (CoR) in Brussels on 17 June.

Pavel Branda, Deputy Mayor of Rádlo municipality, Czech Republic, and rapporteur for people-to-people projects and small scale projects in cross-border cooperation programmes at the CoR, welcomed the audience. Two seminars followed, one focusing on the impacts of sustainable territorial development, the other on the landscape planning of regions and cities.

Many lecturers from all over Europe have been involved in the seminars: Michael Jansen, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France; Heli Rautanen, Executive Manager at Aspiring Saimaa Geopark, Finland; Richard Wakeford, Professor, Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences; Indrani Das Schmid, Director and Co-Founder GFGZ, Luc-Emile Bouche-Florin, President of CIVILSCAPE, Honorary President of European Council of Spatial Planners, ECTP-CEU.

Martin Guillermo Ramírez, Secretary General of ABER, contributed to the discussions by bringing a pan-European perspective in the debate.

As a follow up of the seminars, the organizers announced the publication of a new compendium on cross-border cooperation to be released next year.

- third edition of 948 Merkatua, Navarra Arts Market and Professional Forum, that will take place on 20, 21 and 22 November 2019 in Pamplona (Navarra, Spain), will focus on hybrid creations and interdisciplinary content.
