Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE)
Committee of the Regions

The session will take place on Wednesday, 9 October 2013, from 14.30 to 17.00 at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

The workshop is co-organised with the European Commission, DG ENV, and forms the 2nd meeting of the CoR/DG ENV Technical Platform for Cooperation on the Environment.

To participate, please register via the main OPEN DAYS registration page (click here) - the workshop is number 09C21.

Moving to a zero waste society is a major local challenge. Regions and cities need to make the most effective investment choices in terms of prevention, collection and treatment of municipal waste in order to implement the waste hierarchy and, as a minimum, reach the European targets. At the workshop, regions and cities will showcase their solutions, in link with necessary funding sources, as well as the connection with legal and economic instruments.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the CoR ENVE Secretariat.
