Lieu de la manifestation: Region Västra Götaland Brussels Office, Rue du Luxembourg 3, Brussels

Hanna Katarina Nyroos
International Officer
Region Västra Götaland, Brussels Office

Sweden and Norway have a long history in common. The geographical border has changed over time, as has the flow of labour and resources. In the last decade the predominant migratory flow has been Swedes utilizing the possibility of finding work in Norway. The open border constitutes a possibility for growth and development, however, the Regional Councils at the border face a challenge in facilitating cooperation and identifying means of growth.

The Interreg-project KUSK (Knowledge, Development, Statistics and Communication) aims to develop and visualize harmonized statistics for the cross border region of Østfold and Västra Götaland, and to increase the understanding of statistics for a professional planning for development. At the seminar KUSK will present key findings, methods of cooperation and modern ways to visualize statistics:
You are welcome to this lunch time debate on the possibilities of open borders, the economic opportunities of cross border regions and the role of statistical knowledge in developing good grounds for regional development.
