Cross-border labour market mobility :

First project workshop organised by the AEBR took place in Brussels

On 19th April 2012 a project workshop took place in Brussels. About 25 experts from different border areas exchanged during the meeting their experiences and discussed current challenges and problems related to cross-border labour mobility.

The meeting started with a presentation of César Morcillo, Director of the Regional Office of Extremadura in Brussels that hosted the meeting. After the presentation of the host Ms Nadia Loddo as representative of the DG Employment introduced briefly her unit and provided basic information on the new call for proposals that is open till 31st May 2012. The project implemented by the AEBR was successfully submitted in the second call for proposals that took place last year.

Martín Guillermo Ramírez, Secretary General of AEBR presented in the beginning of the session briefly the project and major activities implemented in the first months of the project duration. They focused in particular on the collection of information on advisory services available for frontier workers in different European border regions and the elaboration of a baseline study. First draft of the study is available now. It should be completed in the upcoming months.
