AEBR General Assembly and Annual Conference, 8-9 November 2012, Berlin/Germany :

Main topic of the Annual Conference “Cross-border labour market mobility – experiences, problems, challenges”.

Labour market mobility is of particular importance for border regions, as it is part of the every-day life of citizens. The problems related to different social security and tax regulations are particularly challenging in border areas that are confronted with complex and steadily changing legal, administrative, social and economic conditions. Information on standard solutions is not sufficient, as individual situations require individual information and advice. The Annual Conference of the AEBR has the aim to exchange experiences in cross-border labour market cooperation and to discuss current challenges and problems with invited experts from European border regions and politicians representing regional, national and European level. Professionals dealing with cross-border cooperation, decision-makers from regional, national and European levels, labour market policy stakeholders and interested public are invited to attend this AEBR conference. Almost 250 representatives from 21 European Countries have registered so far.

During the General Assembly, taking place on Thursday, 8 November 2012, the members will also elect the board of the Association for the next period (2013-2014).
