AEBR issues the conference report on “Women in rural areas and cross-border cooperation”:


Women in rural areas and Cross-border Cooperation Conference initiated by AEBR Young Leaders for Cross-border Cooperation and organized by Association of European Border Regions, AEBR Task Force of External Borders, AEBR Centre for Balkans in cooperation with Center for Sustainable Development of Serbia, Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives Balkans and Institute for International and Cross-border Cooperation, with the support of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and EU Info Point Novi Sad.

The International Conference “Women in Rural Areas and Cross-border Cooperation” was held on the 6th March 2017 in Novi Sad. More than 120 people attended the conference to talk about the challenges as well as the opportunities for women in rural areas.

The conference ended with ten conclusions, such as: the need to make women in rural areas visible in society, the opportunity to enhance their entrepreneurship in sectors like tourism and food production, the importance to exercise their rights such as maternity leave and retirement.
