The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) has opened the third call for proposals in the framework of the b-solutions initiative.
Addressing cases where interactions across the border are more difficult because of structural reasons, b-solutions offers an opportunity to authorities in European border regions and to cross-border structures to find solutions to legal or administrative obstacles hindering cross-border cooperation.
b-solutions targets difficulties that arise because of a lack of coherence of legislation applicable on the different sides of the border, or inconsistencies and overlapping of the different administrative procedures. Public bodies and cross-border structures experiencing such obstacles are invited to apply to the third call for proposals opened in the framework of the b-solutions initiative.
With the objective to recognise the specificity of cross-border interactions in the applicable legal and administrative contexts, through b-solutions the awarded applicants will receive legal advice on defining and, eventually, solving, obstacles to cross-border cooperation.
Also, AEBR has published the compendium showcasing the analyses of obstacles and solutions fostering cross-border cooperation developed with the previous calls for proposals launched under the b-solutions initiative. 43 cases from different European internal land borders are outlined in detail, emphasising the need to adapt legislation to the specificities of border regions. The compendium with the analyses and its annex with detailed information on each case can be viewed here: https://www.b-solutionsproject.com/. This is a direct link to the first volume of the Compendium, and this one to the Annex with the 43 cases.
