AEBR is currently conducting a survey about small projects funds (SPF) in European border regions. Many border regions have been using such tools for a long time but they are mentioned now for the first time by Interreg regulations, recognizing their importance in the promotion of cross-border people-to-people contacts.
AEBR and Euroregion Elbe/Labe, with the collaboration of other Euregios, are preparing an overview on the number of border regions that have implemented SPF so far, how important they are for cross-border cooperation and the organizations themselves, and how the SPF are funded and managed in different regions.
We will use this knowledge for a better understanding of the matter, improve lobbying in favour of SPF and increase the general awareness about them.
We conduct this survey purely online with the technical assistance of Euroregion Elbe/Labe and were able to provide it in several languages (EN, DE, FR, ES, CZ, PL, SK, IT, NL, PT, HU, GR and RO). Various regions have already answered, but we are still waiting for a larger number to do so before preparing the first analysis. Once ready we will publish any conclusions on this website, AEBR newsletters and social media.
