AEBR Balkans’s updates: a new project and an outlook on the region

31 March 2021

AEBR Balkans Centre updates on the latest activities: a new project with ESPON, the participation in the Europe of the Carpathians conference and the celebration of its 5th anniversary.

Territorial Scenarios for the Danube and Adriatic Ionian Macro-regions (TEVI 2050)

We are glad to announce that ESPON’s tenders Territorial Scenarios for the Danube and Adriatic Ionian Macro-regions (TEVI 2050) is granted to the consortium of territorial development stakeholders that AEBR is taking part in through the Balkan branch.

The consortium is led by Spatial Foresight (Luxembourg), a well know company who is at the frontline of current European research on territorial issues, in partnership with CDUT (Centrul pentru Dezvoltare Urbana si Teritoriala, Romania), IPoP (Institute for Spatial Policies, Slovenia), CESCI (Central European Services for Cross-Border Initiatives, Hungary), Co-PLAN (Instituti për Zhvillimin e Habitatit, Albania), and Prof. Franziska Sielker, Newton International Fellow at the Dpt. of Land Economy, University of Cambridge (UK).

The partners will produce trend analyses and territorial scenarios for the Danube (EUSDR) and Adriatic Ionian macro-regions (EUSAIR), looking in particular at the internal disparities and diversities between the territories of the member countries in each of these two macro-regions.

The outcomes will feed political discussions at national, regional, cross-border levels, with other EU macro-regions and in wider Europe.
