ARRIVAL IN HUNGARY, SERBIA AND NOVI SAD

For those participants arriving in Budapest to attend the VI CB School in Szeged (28/9), a transfer will be available on 27 September.

For those participating in the AEBR Annual Events 2022, a transfer will be available to continue their travel from Szeged to Novi Sad on the evening of Wednesday, 28 September. Other participants will arrive directly at Belgrade international airport. Another transfer has been organised from Belgrade airport to Novi Sad. The participants should arrange additional transfers to return, with the support of the organizers, including the option of Timișoara, where a study visit is planned for Sunday, 2 October. Some participants might also want to stay and/or return from Timisoara international airport.

 

A FOCUS ON YOUTH

The European Year of Youth is a core element of AEBR Annual Events 2022, where we would like to welcome many young representatives of European border regions. We will discuss various aspects of cross-border cooperation, cross-border public services, smart solutions for mobility in border regions and other challenges, the role of multiculturalism, etc.

Youth participation: young politicians from border regions are encouraged to take part.

 

Working languages: English, German and Serbian.

SCHOOL OF CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION

The AEBR 6th  Cross-Border School (CBS) is to be organised for the 6th time in Szeged, DKMT Euroregion, Hungary, at the Novotel Hotel, in close collaboration with the Radboud University of Nijmegen and the Province of Gelderland (NL). From 2022 on, the CBS is also part of the 21st Century Borders project, led by the University of Victoria (Canada) within the BIG Lab (Borders in Globalisation), with many partners in various continents. The CBS will keep focusing on the European CBC reality, but its scope has grown. This year’s general emphasis is on youth and CBC. Prominent lecturers from various continents are expected.

Workshop I Youth Engagement in Cross Border Cooperation

This working session intends to bring together members of AEBR who are interested in exchanging with young people and young people involved in updating the AEBR’s CBC Youth Charter. With the aim of improving youth’s participation in border regions and cooperation programmes, participants will discuss solutions and share best practices.

Workshop II How to apply to b-solutions’ call

AEBR’s team will present the call for proposals launched in the framework of the b-solutions 2.0: Solving Cross-Border Obstacles initiative, an action by the European Commission and AEBR. Representatives of public bodies and cross-border structures are invited to exchange with AEBR’s team and bring forward possible legal and administrative obstacles they face when cooperating with their neighbouring regions.

During this dedicated workshop, b-solutions’ team will illustrate the application procedure and provide concrete help to apply and receive technical support to solve such obstacles.
