AEBR’s General Assembly and Annual Conference “Mirror to the Future” – Cross-border perspectives on the European Green Deal

The 5th Cross-Border School has been organized by AEBR and the Radboud University of Nijmegen in Arnhem and online at 10:00-12:30, 13:30-14:30 and 15:00-16:30, hosted by the Province of Gelderland in the Haus of the Province (Huis der Provincie, Markt 11, 6811 DG Arnhem). AEBR Executive Committee will meet at 9:00 in the House of the City (Arnhem City Hall, Koningsstraat 38, 6811 DG Arnhem), followed by the General Assembly of AEBR members at 10:15. Both events will have simultaneous interpretation in English, French and German.
At 12:00, a bus transfer has been organized to the Industrial Park Kleefsewaard (IPKW, Westervoortsedijk 73, 6827 AV Arnhem), where AEBR Annual Conference 2021 takes place. A walking lunch will be followed by the welcome speeches of host authorities and AEBR. Then, Commissioner Elisa Ferreira has confirmed a keynote speech. We have also invited Commission’s Vice-president Frans Timmermans, in charge of the Green Deal portfolio, to address our Conference.
Current major challenges for border and cross-border regions (Green Deal, Digitalisation, Recovery and Resilience) will be discussed with EU institutions, national authorities and other organizations in various workshops, keynote sessions and a studio. AEBR Annual Conference 2021 working language is English. See the detailed programme of all events on the Momice platform.
We will work on various aspects of the Green Deal of particular interest for border regions, such as water management, hydrogen and other energy transition issues, sustainable food, funding opportunities, or entrepreneurship in cross-border contexts.
At 17:15 we will finish the works of the day with the bestowal of AEBR Award Sail of Papenburg 2021
And, from 19:00 to 23:00 AEBR 50th Anniversary Celebrations with a Dinner designed by Katja Gruiters and Party with Live Band at Eusebius in Arnhem.
