Voices of Europe

Voices of Europe is a week-long cultural event taking place 19–25 October 2026 in Oulu, Finland.

 

It explores the richness of European languages and border cultures and identities through digital storytelling, interactive performances, roundtable discussions, living library and exhibitions.

The event is designed in an open-floor, multi-zone format where attendees navigate freely between simultaneous programme tracks and can participate virtually as well.

• Dates: 19–25 October 2026 (Week 43)
• Venue: International School of Oulu, Kasarmintie 4, 90650 Oulu, Finland
• Format: Open-floor multi-zone event, free of charge to the public
• Hybrid: Selected sessions streamed and accessible online
• Languages: Main language is English, other languages: Finnish, Swedish, Sápmi, Meänkieli, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi and etc.

 

A call for application for cultural, artistic and scientific presentations is open until 30 August and we invite representatives from all European border regions to participate in the event.

 

Voices of Europe is ​organised by Bothnian Arc and the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), as part of Oulu2026 — European Capital of Culture.
