The European Commission opened three new calls related to the New European Bauhaus (NEB), the environmental, economic and cultural project, aiming to combine design, sustainability, accessibility, affordability and investment in order to help deliver the European Green Deal – it connects the European Green Deal to our daily lives and living spaces.
The objective of the newly launched calls is to support citizens, cities and towns to take the New European Bauhaus project deep into their communities. With the NEB, the European Commission calls on all Europeans to imagine and build together a sustainable and inclusive future that is beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls.
On 30 March DG REGIO has launched a competitive call to implement the NEB, Support to New European Bauhaus Local Initiatives, open until next 23 May (before 17 CEST). This call targets small and medium-sized local authorities (below 100,000 inhabitants) in EU member states or groups of them, including cross-border areas, and it will select advanced and inspiring project ideas to reconvert existing on-site infrastructure or public space addressing the three complementary values of the NEB: Sustainability, Aesthetics and Inclusion.
20 place-based projects from the EU will receive in-kind support from a group of interdisciplinary experts to facilitate the uptake of NEB elements and advance towards implementation.
The application must be submitted in English here.
