The prestigious AEBR Cross Border Award “Sail of Papenburg”, presented by the Ems Dollart Region since 2002, which had been paused since 2023 due to various circumstances, will be presented again this year in Carrickmacross, Ireland, on the 29-30 October 2026.
Therefore, we have the pleasure to call for your applications. The theme of this year’s award is:
CB Labour Markets: (including telework and home office) Challenges and Opportunities in Post-COVID Times
One or more outstanding measures of a border or cross-border region will be honoured. An independent jury appointed by the AEBR Executive Committee will evaluate the submitted proposals.
The communication of the winning project and the bestowal of the Award will take place at the AEBR Annual Conference, scheduled for 29-30 October 2026 in Carrickmacross (Monaghan, Ireland). We ask all applicants for the award “Sail of Papenburg” 2026 to already take note of the date and location of the award ceremony (a travel bursary is not foreseen).
