Sail of Papenburg 2020: Projects awarded for solutions to cooperate during the closure of borders
AEBR’s Cross Border Award “Sail of Papenburg” 2020, sponsored by the Ems Dollart Region, addressed joint initiatives and solutions taken by border regions in an effort of re-opening the borders during Spring 2020, as most national authorities decided to close them.
AEBR has received 10 applications and three of them have been qualified as outstanding: the Working Community of the Pyrenees (CTP) received the first prize for the implementation of measures aimed at reducing the impact of the health crisis on the programmed projects under POCTEFA (AD-ES-FR CBC Programme), the Euregio Meuse-Rhine received the second prize for the coordination of cross-border cooperation supporting citizen and crisis management in the Covid-19 pandemic and the Eurodistrict PAMINA won the third prize for their daily Covid-19 Newsletter in French and German informing citizens about latest measures. BRCT Iaşi was awarded the special prize 2020 for having improved the response capacity of Mobile Emergency Service through a joint action operating in Romania, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
